Ausangate Mountain and Machu Picchu 5 days / 4 nights
Detailed Travel Itinerary
Ausangate Trek the true image of the high Andes as the Incas worshiped the mountains. Apu Ausangate is located in the Cordillera Vilcanota (20,807ft). In our trek we cross spectacular passes, explore a radiant landscape below enormous snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Ausangate is a stronghold of traditional Quechua culture with minimal world immersion. The native people live at 14,000 ft tending their herds of llamas and alpacas surrounded by colorful glacial lakes, deep red cliffs and relaxing hot spring with Andean atmosphere. You will also have a good chance of encountering condors, the largest flying bird in the world and Andean fauna such as viscacha, andean fox and vicuña, practically extinct elsewhere. Although you will be hiking at altitudes of 12,467ft. You will be acclimatized gradually, the trek is considered moderate. Ausangate is one of the highest mountain in south of Peru.
